Justin Walsh has done it again. He has won the GenCon UK storyline! Beating a Phoenix Mo5/Dishonor deck in the final. (Jimi (from Finland) actually conceded to Justin when it became apparent that he had an unassailable advantage, as agreed beforehand.)

Justin is the Man!

There were 99 players in total, with the highest representation being Phoenix with 13, followed by Scorpion with 12 and Yoritomos Alliance with 11 (of which only 2 were Fox)!!

Of the final four decks, 2 were dishonor!

In the final sixteen there were 3 Mantis, 2 Unicorn, at least 3 Phoenix, 2 Crane and at least 2 Scorpion and of course some others.

3 Finnish players made it into the top sixteen! Jimi Koivisto & Henri Huhtanen going 6-0 in the swiss and Marko Etelapera going 5-1!! Watch out for these guys in the future, they are seriously hot!!

Of the 99 starters 89 finished the tournament.

Gareth Hanrahan of HDM fame, fulfulling the conditions of a bet he had made, played a corrupt Kokujin assumes the championship deck and challenged any HDM player in the first round! He summarily lost!

Mark Wootton, not only placed last remaining Crane in the tournament, but also lost his challenge to the Lion!!! But, to be totally fair to him he was playing a cool and fun deck and he seemed to enjoy himself immensely.

All in all a fabulous tournament. Steve Horvath and Luke Peterschmidt were on hand to witness evertything, including a game which Steve took note of, where the Ninja conceded to the Fox!!!!!

The story prize wasn't just a suit of armor BTW, it was also the character wearing it, a Phoenix shugenja? from 500 years in the past!

And Steve let us in on some Spirit War secrets, but well, they're secrets.......
