OK People a quick News Flash

The Assembly of Gaijin Magistrates will be running a Midnight Madness tournament starting at 8 p.m. on Thursday 31st August at Gen Con. Entry Fee will be an amount of money (perhaps £3 – to be spent on prizes) plus a rare card (and I don’t want rubbish). I will personally be putting in a Doom of the Dark Lord and possibly an Imperial Avoid Fate to get things started, together with 20 or 30 average rares, as an example. I will personally try and ensure that every player will get at least two rare cards back as a prize (it depends on numbers – I might struggle if there is over 100 as I don’t have that many spare rares) drawn randomly from the entries.I am hoping to get a bit of sponsorship from traders. I am hoping to generate some good old product (Shadowlands/Time of the Void etc) for the big prizes.

Format will be 30/30 Open – straight cut to decide who goes first, in the event of a tie in cut, add the stronghold starting honour to the cut score. I have spoken to WotC in the States and have requested that we have permission for the winner of an event over here to get a drawing done by Matt Wilson (who is a guest at the Con) and that the artwork later be put onto a card of the clan of the winner. Does it get any cooler than that? It isn’t finalised yet so no promises but.

The event will be unsanctioned in order to allow all of the WotC staff and people normally debarred from tournaments to play if they want (especially Steve Horvath and Luke Peterschmidt from the states). The format will either be single or double elimination (so that you only have to stay up all night if you are in with a chance of some god prizes).

Judges and referees will be Mark Wootton and Mark Armitage.
