Subj: [L5RINFO] one last big ruling before Gencon
Whew. Now that I'm *finally* just about out the door, I've got time to correct an oversight that I really should have jumped on as soon as it was discovered.
While the new rule about every single effect being separate is helpful to the game in general, its impact on keeping units in the battle but bowed in some situations was unexpected and unintended. Here is a sneak-peek at how Gold Edition is going to address the problem. Consider this ERRATA to the latest rulebook.
A unit being sent home from a battle may or may not become bowed as a result. This is a side-effect of being sent home, and is the default case (i.e., a unit which is sent home is always bowed unless the effect specifically says it is not). If the send-home effect is negated, the bowing does not occur either.
Note that the general rule about all effects being separate is still in full effect.
I'm sad to say I will simply not have the rulings archive updated at all before Gencon as I will be spending all my time traveling. Andy or Zen should be able to deputize someone in my absence.
