Again, off topic, but it's just sooo cool. Steve Jackson pointed this one out! The Curse Generator.

Mindy is still accepting applications for Regional storyline events. I'm not sure if we count as a region in the same way as Hawaii seems to, but it seems worth the attempt. Keith? Members of the AGM?
Slighty off-topic for this site, but I am a great fan of Jyhad/V:TES, so I want to get those of you who are also interested in it to check out White Wolfs coming new expansion to the game, Sabbat War!
And, last mention of V:TES, any of you who, like myself, have not played in ages should really check out the new rules and rulings. They are fairly radical.

Bills card of the week featured at The Stronghold is Yoritomo Kamoto.
Mark Woottons Treatise on the Gold Edition Clans and
their Players.
Warning: If you are easily offended please do not read this otherwise very humorous
article!

Not much today. Just updated the links page! Check it out!
Hmm... I think everyone should check out this L5R oddity.

Eeepp! It seems that the link to the Shrine hasn't been working! It has been fixed now however!
The L5R larp at GenCon included a State of the Empire document. It's really good.
22nd August 2000
Ree has posted The Burden of the Clans. It's really cool <sniff>
We have a new poll on site!
21st August 2000

Whilst wandering
through the TV listings in the Irish Times I came across this:
Geiko Girl (Sunday 20th BBC2, 9pm) Her parents think she is
studying architecture in college, but a young Japanese girl called Mamehisa has left home
to train as a Geisha girl - or geiko as they are known in her newly adopted city of Kyoto.
All for the sake of an afternoon tea.
Check it out. I'd say it could be interesting!

A special thanks to all of you who have signed the Book of Condolences so far. Reading these kind words, brought a tear to my eye. Yoritomo truly was respected by many, many people, both friend and foe.
I hope to have the GenCon photos up soon. They are currently being developed.
17th August 2000
We have added a new Yoritomo Shrine section to the site. Please visit and sign the Book of Condolences. (Okay, it's not great, but I think it's alright.)
You'll find the link to the GenCon US section on the default link bar above.

Here is a link to the Gold card list so far.
Gencon UK storyline & other info!
As requested by some of you, here is the deck I played at GenCon US 2000.
15th August 2000
Well, I'm back. The Irish have done amazing (as you would expect :-] ). Justin Walsh won overall with a Kolat infested Phoenix Dragon deck! Brian Mulcahy came in fifth I believe with a Takas den Crab deck and Darragh Long came in 10th with his Yodin Sensei PCP using A Moment of Brilliance!! Congrats also to Adam Jones who took top TA! I'll eventually get around to some sort of tourney report when I get my pics developed and scanned in. I went 5-3/5-3 in the qualifiers. Michael Cooney and Rob Feeney also qualified for Saturdays play. Another Irishman who qualified for the final day through random seed was Mike O'Brien. Additionally several of our friends across the pond made it through. Neil Jones, Andrew Lowther, Quinton Dalton and Martin Provoost all made it through. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
Yoritomo is Dead! Long live our new champion, Yoritomo Aramasu!
Mantis will not be a faction in the new gold edition, though there does seem to be an experienced Aramasu. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this yet.
GenCon highlight for me was defending Aramasu from the Scorpion. On the Thursday this Scorpion guy had been ripping up Bayushi Aramasus before many of his games. On the Friday morning in an official challenge (one of the three allowed each morning of the qualifiers) he challenged any true Mantis for Bayushi Aramasus head. I took up the challenge for all Mantis everywhere. And kicked ass. No more Aramasus were ripped that weekend!!!! If you are that Scorpion player please mail me!
The Fox are gone from the Alliance for good. At the end of the convention Ree called up the Fox and the non-Fox and explained that the Fox were out on their own with a seperate destiny than the rest of the Alliance.
Additionally, Ree hinted over breakfast on Friday that the Alliance will be expanding with the addition of the Ox clan (Shinjo Morito & Co.)
3rd August 2000
We have a Goblin Bounty from Emmet.
And not a whole lot else really. I think everyone is too excited about GenCon now to think of much else! Less than a week to go!!!
2nd August 2000
I have discovered another bounty for YA players! This one is from Yoritomo Gekkido. Other bounties for all clans can be found here at the Tao of the Unicorn!
Bit of a site experimentation going on. Let me know what you think. Please.
1st August 2000
Less than 10 days to go to GenCon US now guys n' gals.
We have a Toturis Army article by the esteemed Sean Frank. He has a really cool webpage aswell: http://www.geocities.com/toturitheblack - Known as the Throne Room of Toturi the First
Zen Faulkes has updated the L5R accumulated rulings document. It's all here.
Adam Jones and Mark Armitage have organised a pre-GenCon UK tourney. Very weird format.
